Kaitlyn Barnett, Lead Clinician FNP-BC, CFMP

Kaitlyn began her nursing career in 2017 when she graduated with her Associate’s Degree in Nursing in Kentucky. While working as a nurse, she went on to graduate with her Bachelor’s degree in the science of Nursing in 2019 from Indiana Wesleyan University. For five years, she gained nursing experience before deciding to go to graduate school to be a medical provider. She graduated in January of 2023 from the University of Cincinnati with her Master’s degree in the science of Nursing and became nationally board certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner through the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). She has been a practicing provider for over three years, caring for patients of all ages-from newborns to the elderly and has experience managing a wide range of pediatric conditions and chronic diseases. She is also a certified functional medicine practitioner, bringing experience in both conventional Western medicine and functional medicine to provide a truly integrative approach to care.

Who she is:

She is a proud wife, mom of one boy and a practitioner who fully understands the need for a holistic approach to medicine. In her spare time, she prefers to be in the great outdoors somewhere in the woods or mountains with her family. She has a strong passion for plant and herbal medicine and natural treatment options that lead to healing. In fact, she sells organic medicinal mushroom extracts and you might find her foraging locally on her time off. :) She is also passionate about antibiotic stewardship and will not jump to a prescription, but understands when it is warranted. Her approach to medicine is always patient-centered and focused on PREVENTION instead of symptom management along with finding the underlying causes to disease. Her intention is to help give her patients the right tools and mindset to attain their individualized health goals. She is a devout Christian and a firm believer that God has lead each and every one of you reading this to her page. She is so grateful and excited for the opportunity to work with every family she gets the privilege to meet and empower them on their own personal journey to wellness.
